Kim Parent is currently living and working out of Nashville, Tennessee. After completing a 3 year tour in 2017 with 5 time Grammy award winning artist Christopher Cross, she is now singing occasionally at the Grand Ol’ Opry in the house band, in various Nashville studios, and performing at songwriter events in the surrounding area. She appeared with Keith Urban and a host of other amazing artists in the televised 2017 CMA Awards.
She recently finished her newest CD The Song Finds You, produced by Bruce Guttridge which will be available on I-tunes late spring 2018. The sound of this project has been compared to Chris Isaak, Roy Orbison, and Eva Cassidy. Please check back for samples coming soon.
Kim will be appearing with Nashville “Legend” artist Kathy Mattea in the near future. Kathy’s music releases over the years were one of the reasons Kim was interested in moving to Nashville some years ago. (Having these opportunities to sing with Kathy is something Kim sees as a bucket list “checked” item).
Kim has been featured as a songwriter in Atlanta’s “Home By Dark” concert series, Montana’s “Big Sky Songwriter’s Festival”, Birmingham’s historic “Workplay”event center, and “Jim Parker’s Songwriters Series” in Huntsville, Alabama. She produced and hosted an 8-series songwriter’s circle In Tullahoma Tennessee. She was invited to perform at 2 Recovery events this summer in Nashville.
Kim has performed live with such artists as Carole King, Garrison Keeler, Michael McDonald, Kristen Chenoweth, Jennifer Hudson, Lionel Richie, Trisha Yearwood, Darius Rucker, Faith Hill, Jo Dee Messina, George Straight, and Reba McEntire, to name just a few.
Kim toured with legendary country duo Brooks and Dunn for 6 years, was a cast member of the popular TV show "The Singing Bee" for 6 seasons, and has written songs for Zomba music publishing and Don Goodman Music.
Her songs have been recorded by T. Graham Brown, Jonell Mosser, Ronna Reeves, Lucy Diamond from the UK, Gail Bliss, and several Canadian artists.
Kim had her first ever solo performing experiences while attending the University of Delaware. Accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she had her first experiences in the music business playing coffee houses, the local bar ‘Klondike Kate’s, Deer Park Tavern, and the now infamous Stone Balloon.
She began her journey into songwriting while still living in her native state of New Jersey, traveling into New York City to appear at CBGB’s, Kenny’s Castaways, and The Bitter End.
Relocating to Nashville to secure a writing position with Zomba Music jumpstarted the career we now can see in full bloom.
